Well, this graph breaks down the entire science and shows why we should kill the driver in the yellow car trying to make an exit at the last minute. Seriously, I knew all this alraedy, but thanks for breaking it down for me.
Click on the picture to see it in full size and find out why the funnel effect is so important to disrupting and causing traffic slowdown. I think we should really investigate how to apprehend that first intial car who caused this entire slowdown on the freeway. And if the freeway is prone to this type of activity, is there any project planning by our lovely city, state or federal council to prevent this from happening? Seriously, one car exiting last minute can cause such ruckus? Have we not advanced far enough to at least defy gravity and beat some other laws of physics.
Instead, I have to sit in my car peering to my left or right to see what IS exactly going on?!? At times, I wonder if a car is engulfed in flames therefore we are all slowing down to watch a trapped driver inside. Just kidding. But seriously, I hate and loathe traffic and feel that there has got to be a better solution to this. If not, lets all just stone the driver of the first car who exited last minute because of their dumb ignorance for not knowing which exit to take.
