Lakers 2008-2009 Champs!

It has been a roller coaster ride of a season and playoffs for these Los Angeles Lakers and by closing out the Orlando Magic this past Sunday in Game 5, they are once again the NBA champions. The significant meaning of this championship is evident by its historical importance. This will be Phil Jackson’s tenth NBA championship and he now surpasses Red Auerbach to be the greatest coach of the game of professional basketball. This will also be Kobe Bryant’s first without Shaquille O’Neal. Our Zenmaster, maybe he'll get Ariza and Odom to return for less. However, I think the biggest significance above all to me is the fact this time around, the championship was built not over night but over 7 years.
