My best friend?

Last week when Google’s site went down, I felt all alone. My morning routine was ruined because I couldn’t check my email, access my RSS reader, look for news and have my questions answered. The sad reality dawned on me is how reliant I have become on Google. My life is simply revolved around it. The mere fact I couldn’t just launch a browser and fire up a search on Google felt powerless. Sorry Yahoo, Microsoft Live, etc. Google is simply irreplaceable at the moment. Although Google cannot interact with you it feels almost animated.  You type in something to search and an answer spits out from it based on relevancy.  Its like my mentor, teacher and best friend.  Through the search results, I see it as its guidance to where I can seek more help.  In the end, I always... Continue Reading...

Google to help combat piracy, musicians still unprofitable?

Last night, I read an article about Google’s attempt to make a foot print in China, the largest up and coming consumer nation.  Goolge will offer one million music free downloads to the people living in China with an IP originating from China.  If you are not living in China, I guess you are out of luck.   They will generate revenue through advertisements as people download the music by visiting the website.  This is awesome but I don’t think this will do anything about combating piracy in China, where supposedly, 90% of all music is obtained illegally.
