Brushing up my resume, preparing through the recession

Every year, I make it a priority to update my resume. Regardless if I had a promotion or change in position, it matters not. I have been meaning to update for 2009 and I came across this article on Squawkfox offering resume writing tips. Particularly, I found this article especially helpful because no matter how prideful I am of my current resume format and presentation, I fall victim to these generic phrases and words described in the article. I have received numerous compliments on my resume because of its presentation and colors but now I want to make the content stick and stand out, as opposed to sucking.
